π Guidance Issued on Insurance Cover for UK Delegation Travel
The CSP have recently updated their guidance on travelling overseas with UK clients. Physiotherapists travelling overseas with a British delegation are reminded to check the scope of their Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) cover. The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) confirms that members are insured to travel and work with a UK team for up to 180 days per year, provided specific conditions are met.

Functional fitness racing is booming. Events like HYROX, DEKA, Deadly Dozen and similar formats are pulling in athletes of every level and age span, from complete beginners to competitive hybrid racers to Elite and world championships. However, with rapid growth in a new and demanding sport comes injury risk. Functional fitness racing has its own unique demands, from sled work, weighted carries, to fatiguing exercises and high-volume compromised running, to unique high-intensity physiological demands β more than just long sustained endurance efforts.
This webinar will break down the real physical demands of functional fitness racing, the most common training errors potentially driving injury, and what physios need to know to assess and manage these athletes effectively.
Our keynote speaker, Dr Adam Storey, is high-performance coach and sport scientist with over 17 years' experience leading multi-disciplinary teams at the highest levels of international sport. A former head coach of the New Zealand Weightlifting Team at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games, and the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games. A Strength & Conditioning Specialist who has trained multiple Olympic, World and Commonwealth champions across sports including track and field, rugby union (2019 Rugby World Cup), sprint kayaking (2020 Olympic Games), and sailing (2021 America's Cup). He is a Senior Research Fellow at Auckland University and University's Sports Performance Research Institute (SPRINZ), supervising postgraduate research in applied strength & conditioning and exercise physiology.
In the realm of functional fitness racing, Adam is a member of the HYROX Sports Science Advisory Council, Co-founder of Endurox, a science-based HYROX training system built on aerobic foundations, strength, and HRV-guided recovery. He walks the walk as a committed HYROX athlete himself, having competed at HYROX World Championships, bringing lived competitive experience to his coaching philosophy
